it's close to a year since we moved in, but there is still white patches, empty and uninhabited. 

spring is coming!

finally - spring is coming! this past winter must be the longest ever (at least it feels that way). the sky is blue, the sun melts snow (still a whole lot less, but i can see patches of ground, patches!). too bad you can't photograph the feel of the spring air, because that might just be the best thing. 

introducing family member # 4: ella

meet our youngest addition to our family. ella's known for her violent cuddling, her non gracious movement and her love of everything playful. we sometimes call her the fox. 

introducing family member # 3: mollie

we have two cats. two adorable little stray cats. one is older, wiser, less playful and a whole lot smarter. that's mollie. she loves to sleep, cuddle and being watched while eating. 

family dinner

my dad turned 65 today, so we surprised him with a family dinner. he was quite surprised and didn't even see through it when me and my sister in law turned up a bit early at the same place he and mum was. after a long dinner and a couple of wine glasses, i feel quite happy with my life and most of all: ready to sleep. good night. 

winter sky

ever since we moved we've enjoyed far more glorious sunsets than before. even though our view might not be that fantastic (you really have to know where to point your camera) being set on the top of a hill allows us more sky than before. and i just love that.

the power of the computer

we have reached that point that our view no longer is that interesting to my nephew, the computer is so much more fascinating. ella does not agree.

i have a thing for flowers

even though I kill them in just a few days (or if i'm lucky - a few weeks). this one is unfortunately dead since a few months.. 

memories of fall

i finally imported the pictures from the camera for the first time since november (!?). the first ones i stumbled upon where fall motifs. right now i can't help but miss the rainy, chilly season.

in front of the fire

last easter we went to scotland and to inverness for a few days. we stayed in a bed and breakfast, just reading in front of the fake fire, taking walks and enjoying the country side. this year we're going to boden instead, and i'm hoping it will be just as good.
